About the KarabloK system
KarabloK is a blast-proof and crash-proof modular precast concrete system that can be used to form a highly effective barrier.
Individual units have been shown to provide ballistic protection from multiple strikes in 30mm HE Cannon round attack and fragmentation protection from both medium-sized indirect fire (IDF) munitions and RPG shaped charge rounds.
When connected together using the unique coupling system, the overall structural integrity provides effective protection against vehicle impact attack and large blast loads. KarabloK is the ONLY precast concrete barrier system in the world that is certified for an impact load of 7.6 tonnes (17,000lb) at 50mph.
The patented KarabloK system is made of large transportable precast concrete units that can be positioned either temporarily or permanently without any foundations or ground-fixing required.
Units are joined together by unique pinning system. A 1.26” jointing rebar fits through each of the KarabloK’s internal reinforcement cages and locks the units together. The nut, washer and ‘bung’ arrangement allows the units flex under load which enables them to withstand such large blast and impact forces.
Units can be removed with cranes and trucks once they are no longer needed and can be reused elsewhere.
As well as providing durable protection, KarabloK is also aesthetically pleasing, enabling it to provide an effective solution for a range of applications where both security and appearance are important.
